GGC Inc has been awarded a major contract to rehabilitate 42 kilometres of road in Margibi County, connecting rural farming communities to Monrovia's main arterial network. The contract, awarded by the Liberia Road Authority, represents one of the largest single road rehabilitation projects undertaken by a Liberian-owned firm in the county's history.
Project Scope
The rehabilitation programme covers the full 42km corridor from the Margibi County capital to three rural district centres. Works include full road base reconstruction, drainage channel installation, culvert replacement, and the application of a durable bituminous surface course designed to withstand Liberia's wet season conditions.
GGC's construction team will mobilise a fleet of graders, compactors, and asphalt pavers sourced from the company's existing equipment pool. Local labour will account for a minimum of 70% of the workforce throughout the project duration, in line with GGC's commitment to Liberian employment and skills transfer.
Community Impact
The rehabilitated corridor will directly benefit an estimated 28,000 residents across the three district centres, reducing travel time to Monrovia from over four hours during the rainy season to under 90 minutes year-round. Improved road access is expected to reduce post-harvest crop losses by enabling faster transport of perishable goods to market.

Timeline

This contract builds on GGC's track record in road infrastructure, including the Bong Farm to Market Road project completed in 2024, which delivered 18km of rehabilitated road connecting agricultural communities in Bong County to regional markets.
